Conversation Partners

When studying a language, it is imperative to practice speaking in order to achieve fluency and to become comfortable during conversation. This is why a conversation partner is an ideal component to learning a new language and can make a substantial difference in attaining one’s foreign language goal. Whatever your level of fluency may be, miaLingua is here to help you reach your goal!

We currently offer conversation partners for the following languages:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Russian
The rate for a private conversation partner is $15. Groups of 2 or more – $10 per hour.

Conversation partners are ideal for those who already have a basic understanding of the target language, understand the spoken and written form but need practice when it comes to conversation. Speaking a foreign language – the so called “production” stage of learning  – is the hardest of all; to become a fluent speaker requires constant practice. When vacationing or even living amongst native speakers, for some it may be difficult to find people with whom to make conversation. This usually occurs because it is much easier to speak our native language with our family and friends, and go places where our mother tongue is spoken. If this is your case, then miaLingua is ready to help you become fluent in the language you are learning! Meet with your conversation partner for an hour or two a few days a week to practice speaking. You can meet at any public location such as a cafe or a book store. We want you to feel comfortable and become confident when speaking the foreign language. When you meet with your conversation partner, you do not need to bring anything but yourself. During the hour you will be speaking solely and strictly in the target language and your conversation partner will provide topics for discussion.
